Málaga, Spain – Freepik, the widely recognized creative platform, has officially rebranded as Magnific, consolidating its diverse suite of AI tools and creative assets under a single identity. The change reflects the company's evolution from a stock asset library to a comprehensive AI creative platform, a move underscored by its impressive $230 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) and over one million paying subscribers. The announcement was highlighted by Bishal Nandi, who stated in a tweet, "Freepik is now Magnific, and it better reflects what it has become. Same platform. Same team. Now the identity finally fits the output."

The rebrand is more than cosmetic, signaling a strategic unification of products that previously operated under separate names, including the Freepik stock asset library and the Magnific AI image upscaler, which was acquired in May 2024. This consolidation aims to offer a seamless, end-to-end creative workflow for users, from independent creators to large enterprises. The company, founded in 2010 by Joaquín Cuenca, has achieved this significant scale and profitability without external venture capital investment.

Magnific now integrates a full creative stack, encompassing AI image and video generation, its proprietary AI upscaling and enhancement technology, collaborative workspaces, and a vast library of over 250 million creative assets. The platform also offers model-agnostic capabilities, allowing users to leverage third-party AI models like Google's Veo 3.1 and ByteDance's Seeddance 2.0. This integrated approach positions Magnific to compete directly with other well-capitalized AI creative platforms by reducing friction in combining multiple AI tools.

CEO Joaquín Cuenca Abela has articulated a vision for a "no-collar economy," where AI empowers a new class of creative work, accessible to a broader audience. The platform's business plan, launched in early 2026, has already garnered over 2,000 team subscriptions, indicating strong demand from smaller teams. This shift democratizes high-end production, enabling creatives to push boundaries without traditional constraints.

The company's bootstrapped and profitable status provides resilience in a competitive market often reliant on external funding. Magnific's offerings have already been utilized in major campaigns for brands like Puma and Carl's Jr, and in productions such as Amazon Prime Video's "House of David." The rebrand is a pivotal moment for the company to present its unified platform publicly and target enterprise AI creative budgets with a clear, consolidated identity.
