Man Charged with Double Murder in DeKalb County After Serving 120 Days for Sexual Battery in Savannah

Olaolukitan Adon Abel, 26, faces multiple murder charges following a deadly shooting spree in DeKalb County, Georgia, on April 13, 2026, which left two women dead and another man critically injured. This incident occurred just seven months after Abel completed a 120-day jail sentence for multiple counts of sexual battery in Savannah, Georgia, where he was also banned from the city and prohibited from possessing firearms.

Court records from Chatham County indicate that in April 2025, Abel assaulted four different women within a few hours, leading to four counts of sexual battery. While an obstruction charge was initially added, it was later dropped. His attorney secured a resolution under Georgia's First Offender Act, meaning the charges could be expunged upon successful probation completion. A social media post detailing the case stated, > "He actually served 120 days in prison TOTAL," adding that he paid "Zero in restitution to any of the 4 women." The court mandated a psychosexual evaluation, mental health counseling, and explicitly banned him from Savannah for four years, along with prohibiting firearm possession.

Despite signing the probation agreement on June 7, 2025, Abel allegedly acquired a firearm and embarked on a violent spree on April 13, 2026. Among the victims were 40-year-old DHS employee Lauren Bullis, who was shot and stabbed while walking her dog, and 31-year-old Prianna Weathers. A 49-year-old homeless man was also critically wounded in a separate incident during the same spree, which authorities described as random and unprovoked.

Abel's criminal record extends beyond the Savannah case. He was previously convicted in October 2024 in San Diego, California, for felony assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. Other past charges include battery against a police officer, obstruction, and vandalism. Born in the United Kingdom, Abel became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2022.

Currently, Abel faces two counts of malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin issued a statement expressing concerns about Abel's naturalization given his criminal history, stating, "He possesses a prior criminal record that includes convictions for sexual battery, battery against a police officer, obstruction, and assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and now stands accused of murdering DHS employee Lauren Bullis." Abel was apprehended in Troup County, with investigators linking him to the attacks through rental vehicle data.
