OpenAI has confirmed its cooperation with the government's request, stating the preview is intended to last only weeks before broader availability, pending a new cybersecurity-focused executive order framework. The company maintains that the enhanced capabilities of models like Sol, which offer advanced coding and complex problem-solving, can ultimately benefit defensive applications more than offensive ones. Despite short-term cooperation, OpenAI has emphasized that the current government access process should not become the long-term standard for AI development and deployment.
