The beloved anime character Sailor Moon has officially made her debut as a meet-and-greet character at Universal Studios Hollywood's Fan Fest Nights, an after-hours event celebrating various fandoms. The announcement, shared via a tweet from DiscussingFilm, highlights the iconic heroine's new presence at the park. Fan Fest Nights is scheduled to run for 12 select evenings from April 23 to May 16, 2026, offering guests immersive experiences across multiple franchises.
Beyond character interactions, the Sailor Moon experience at the event includes the premiere of "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe," an original CG anime short film. This subtitled Japanese-language production, previously seen at Universal Studios Japan's popular Cool Japan event, is being shown in the DreamWorks Theatre. It features Super Sailor Moon battling an unforeseen enemy to protect the Legendary Silver Crystal, as Universal announced.
Universal Fan Fest Nights, now in its second year, encompasses a wide array of fan-favorite worlds. Attendees can explore new adventures such as "Scooby-Doo Meets The Universal Monsters: Mystery on the Backlot" and the "ONE PIECE: Grand Pirate Show." Other returning and enhanced experiences include "DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Secrets of Waterdeep," a new walkthrough in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and a "Colorful Yoshi Celebration" in SUPER NINTENDO WORLD.
The event is a separately ticketed affair, offering fans unique themed food, beverages, and exclusive merchandise. Items like the Moon Scepter Churro and various Sailor Moon apparel and accessories are available for purchase throughout the park. Stephen Siercks, senior director of entertainment production and executive producer for Universal Fan Fest Nights, emphasized the special nature of introducing Sailor Moon's characters and story in a new way, highlighting the collaboration with the Universal Studios Japan team.
