Miller Lite has announced the launch of its "Miller Time MVP Matchball," a limited-edition soccer ball-shaped cooler designed to hold a 12-pack of beer. The innovative product, priced at $19.75, will be available through limited online drops starting May 20, strategically timed to coincide with the lead-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which the U.S. is co-hosting. This initiative aims to engage soccer fans and enhance watch party experiences during the global tournament.

The Matchball, approximately 1.5 times the size of a regulation soccer ball, is a white and gold, reloadable container that comes with a display stand. While it is not intended for kicking, its design provides a distinctive and functional centerpiece for gatherings. "A soccer ball that fits a 12 pack? That’s just fun!" stated Courtney Benedict, vice president of marketing for Miller Lite Family of Brands, highlighting the product's appeal.

This release is a key component of Miller Lite's "Miller Time is on U.S." campaign, a wordplay designed to support the U.S. men's national team. The $19.75 price point is a nod to the year Miller Lite was created, 1975, adding a historical touch to the promotional item. Fans who miss the initial online sales on May 20 and June 3 can also enter the "Miller Time MVP Contest" for a chance to win a Matchball.

The launch capitalizes on the significant cultural moment of the World Cup, particularly targeting the burgeoning watch party culture in the United States. Danny O'Connor, Group Creative Director at Mischief @ No Fixed Address, explained the concept: "So just like how MVP players are awarded the match ball after a big game, we want to award these Miller Time MVP fans with a special ball of their own… filled with beer." This move positions Miller Lite to compete for market share during a major sporting event, especially since Budweiser's global FIFA sponsorship excludes the U.S. market.
