This was the KIMS PG Mediquiz-2026 — the fifth edition of a quiz built exclusively for PG students of General Medicine.
Hosted by the Department of General Medicine at Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangaluru.
A room full of future physicians. All sharp. All hungry. All on the clock. ⚡
Bhanvi Agarwal and Kunal Seth from Kasturba Medical College, Mangaluru walked in as contenders…
and walked out as champions.
But here's the twist — the team breathing down their neck wasn't from a rival city.
It was from their own college.
A close finish. A nail-biter ending. And bragging rights that will echo through KMC's PG corridors for a while. 😄
It's easy to dismiss a medical quiz as just another campus event.
It isn't.
For a PG student in General Medicine, this is rapid-fire pattern recognition under pressure.
Symptoms. Syndromes. Differential diagnoses. Drug interactions.
The same instincts they'll lean on at 3 AM in a casualty ward.
As KIMS Dean Shahanavaz Manipady put it at the prize ceremony — periodic academic competitions sharpen knowledge and skills.
Translation: every buzzer press is muscle memory for the real thing. 💉
The quiz was conducted by Dr. Devadas Rai, HOD of General Medicine, with the Medical Superintendent, Principal Advisory Council, and senior faculty all in the room.
Five editions in. 31 teams strong. Two coastal districts represented.
KIMS PG Mediquiz is quietly becoming one of the most competitive PG medicine showdowns in coastal Karnataka.
And this year, the trophy heads to Kasturba Medical College — with a story that proves the toughest competition sometimes sits at the very next desk.
