Imagine signing up for a reality show…
and walking in with zero suitcases.
No designer wear.
No 200 outfits.
No fluffy duvet. No vanity van vibes.
Just a uniform.
A bed with no leg room.
And 13 strangers fighting you for a chair.
Welcome to Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa.
Netflix India is rebooting Ekta Kapoor's cult prison-show on June 27, 2026, and the new set isn't trying to be pretty.
It's trying to break people.
Designer Omung Kumar — the man behind some of Bollywood's most cinematic sets — built it with one brief in mind:
Make it swanky… but make it hurt.
Omung didn't go full dungeon.
He went something scarier: mundane.
A double-height room.
A giant exhaust fan leaking a single shaft of light.
Grunge, but not grime.
Luxury hints… wrapped in discomfort.
In his words: "When you constantly stay in the cell, it might start eating you up. It's too mundane — which will affect you after a point."
That's the genius.
It's not the walls that crack you.
It's the boredom.
Running this prison?
Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh — arguably the most fun duo Indian TV could hand a gavel to.
The inmates locked up so far:
And giving the set tour? Season 1 winner Munawar Faruqui himself, who quipped — "A Lock Upp without Munawar is not possible."
Reality TV in India has been drowning in glam — marble floors, infinity pools, walk-in closets.
Lock Upp is betting on the opposite.
Strip away the wardrobe.
Strip away the comfort.
Strip away the performance.
And see what's left of a celebrity when there's nowhere to hide… and nowhere to sit.
New episodes drop Saturday to Wednesday, 8pm, starting June 27.
The cells are ready.
The cameras are rolling.
The stars just don't know it yet.
That's all for now!
