LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL – Disney's Hollywood Studios will officially open its reimagined attraction, "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets," to the public on May 26, 2026. The high-speed indoor roller coaster, previously themed to Aerosmith, now immerses guests in a rock-and-roll adventure with The Electric Mayhem band. The grand opening follows a series of previews for cast members, Disney Vacation Club members, and Annual Passholders.

The updated attraction retains the original coaster's thrilling elements, including its launch from 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds and three inversions. However, the storyline now centers around The Electric Mayhem – Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot, and Lips – who are running late for their biggest Hollywood concert. Guests join the Muppets in a "Lengthy Immediate Motion Object (L.I.M.O.)" from Muppet Labs to race across town to the show.

A notable appearance in the ride's pre-show is Joe the Legal Weasel, a character known for his deadpan humor and legal advisories. According to a tweet from Drew Smith, Joe the Legal Weasel shares a message before the ride's official opening, which the author describes as "gold." Joe from Legal also recently clarified the correct spelling of the attraction's name for the press and public.

The re-theming extends throughout the attraction, from the G-Force Records queue, now under new Muppet management, to the ride experience itself. New additions include the first-ever Audio-Animatronics figure of Scooter, celebrity cameos, and a revamped soundtrack featuring The Electric Mayhem performing covers alongside guest artists like Jennifer Hudson, Questlove, Def Leppard, and Kelly Clarkson. The surrounding area also features new merchandise and food offerings at "FØØD by Swedish Chef."

The transformation of the iconic coaster was first announced in November 2024, with a 2026 opening timeline. This significant update marks a new chapter for the popular Hollywood Studios thrill ride, bringing the beloved Muppet characters to a high-energy attraction for guests.
