Sesame Street has officially announced that its new album, "Parody Party," will be released on July 26, featuring the lead single "Take a Bite" performed by Cookie Monster. The album, distributed by Warner Music's Arts Music, will include seven songs, comprising both new and previously released parodies of popular music hits. The announcement was playfully made via the official Sesame Street social media account, stating, "Om nom nom nom nom Nom nom nom nom... 'Take A Bite' is the first single from 'Parody Party,' coming soon!"

"Take a Bite" is a humorous take on Bruno Mars' Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit "I Just Might," with Cookie Monster crooning about his favorite topic: cookies. In the accompanying music video, Cookie Monster sings, "If cookie tastes as good as it looks right now/ me will take a bite, a big bite!/ Me not going to wait, me gobble up entire plate, hey!" as reported by Billboard. This single continues Sesame Street's tradition of using beloved characters to adapt contemporary songs for educational and entertaining purposes.

The "Parody Party" album will feature four new parodies alongside three previously released tracks. New additions include "Where Is My Lovie," a parody of RAYE's "Where Is My Husband!" by Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, and Elmo, focusing on a lost toy. Abby, Zoe, and Rosita will perform "Go for the Gold," a take on HUNTR/X’s “Golden,” celebrating teamwork. Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Abby will also deliver "Got to Go," a potty-training anthem parodying Chappell Roan's "Hot to Go!"

Previously released parodies incorporated into the album include Cookie Monster's "Me Want It, But Me Wait," a version of Icona Pop's "I Love It" about willpower, and Oscar the Grouch's "Sort It All," an ode to recycling based on Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." Also featured is Cookie Monster's "Share It Maybe," a parody of Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe," which promotes sharing. Aaron Bisman, SVP and Head of Marketing for Sesame Workshop, stated that music "has long helped us engage the adults in young children’s lives while bringing our educational mission to life in fresh, engaging ways."

"Parody Party" is available for pre-save and marks an "exciting new chapter in Sesame Street’s musical history," according to Bisman, reinforcing the organization's commitment to creativity and cultural relevance. The album is expected to be widely available across streaming platforms and digital music stores upon its release.
