Scientists at IIT Kharagpur dug through four decades of weather data — 1980 to 2024 — and found something unsettling.

Jammu and Kashmir has warmed by nearly 1°C in just 20 years.

🏔️ The mountains are heating faster than the plains

Here's the twist nobody expected.

It's not Jammu city cooking in the heat.

It's the high-altitude towns — the ones with glaciers and snowfields — warming the fastest.

Scientists call this elevation-dependent warming.

Simply put: the higher you go, the faster it heats up.

So what happens when the tower starts leaking faster than it fills?
