San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is facing renewed scrutiny over the clarity of its public transit access signage, despite ongoing multi-billion dollar investments in a comprehensive wayfinding program. SFO, a major international gateway, offers BART as a primary public transit link to San Francisco and the wider Bay Area, with passengers typically connecting via the free AirTrain system. The airport has been engaged in a significant "Wayfinding Program" as part of a larger $7 billion capital program, which includes a $2.4 billion redevelopment of Terminal 1. This initiative aims to enhance the guest experience through reimagined product, service, and information designs, with a phased rollout across terminals, parking garages, roadways, and public transit environments.
