Not along a 6,000-mile arc.
Not "somewhere in the ocean."

He's talking about MH370.
On March 8, 2014, Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 disappeared with 239 people on board.
No transponder. No wreckage. No answers.
Investigators leaned on satellite pings to draw a curved line across the Indian Ocean — the now-infamous "seventh arc."
For over a decade, search teams combed the seafloor along it.
Result every time?
Nothing.
Here's the twist nobody expected.
The ocean was listening the whole time.
Underwater networks called hydrophones can pick up sound travelling thousands of kilometres — a 2024 Cardiff University study found aircraft-crash sounds have carried 2,000 to 5,000 km underwater before.
Scientists checked the CTBTO's global hydroacoustic network for a matching signal near the seventh arc.
They found nothing convincing there.
But a low-frequency signal recorded near Rottnest Island pointed far northwest — toward the Chagos-Laccadive Ridge.
Nowhere close to where everyone had been digging.
A French researcher named Royer had a separate hydrophone array quietly recording the same ocean since 2010 — built to study earthquakes and whale calls, not missing planes.
By 2016, he'd flagged five possible acoustic events matching MH370's disappearance and sent them to French and Australian officials.
They never made the final report.
Too similar to existing analysis, officials reportedly thought.
Yet two independent networks had picked up some of the same signals.
Ocean Infinity's own CEO put it bluntly: "We can say with confidence that it isn't where we looked."
Dall'Osto now believes that overlooked signal near the Chagos-Laccadive Ridge could be MH370's actual impact.
It doesn't erase the satellite data.
But it does raise an uncomfortable question.
What if the search was never wrong about how to find MH370…
just where to point the microphones.
